Welcome to the Sabine Parish Clerk of Court’s website.
Sabine Parish was created by an act of the legislature on March 27, 1843. Sabine Parish was formerly a part of Natchitoches Parish. It is composed of approximately 1,115 squares miles or 648,498 acres and is 45 miles long from north to south. Toledo Bend Reservoir Lake spans the entire western border of the parish. Toledo Bend Reservoir was built and officially opened in 1965. The lake covers approximately 185,000 acres.
The Clerk of Court is the parish recorder and chief election official for the parish. The Clerk is the custodian of the land records, marriage licenses, civil, criminal and probate records.
The Clerk of Court’s office is almost completely self sufficient and operates from the statutory fees it collects, not from taxes. The facility and utilities are furnished by the parish.
